2020 has been a very interesting and stressful year for many. When I started the Womxn's Self-Care circle in January, I had a mission to bring womxn together to make connections and build community.
My hope was that these meetings will help us thrive, not just survive our busy lives. By carving out time to prioritize self-care, and supporting others in this shared experience of being human, we learn and grow together. This is more important than ever.
The theme is reconnecting to your inner child!
Not all of us had happy childhoods. Inner child work is not reliving fond childhood memories, but instead, reconnecting to your childlike sense of wonder, the activities you enjoyed as a child, and that sense of joy, freedom and play. Sometimes it involves giving your inner child the love, attention, and messages you may have needed but didn't receive. It's based in Jungian psychology.
As usual, we will do a meditation, intention setting, and journaling. This event will take place on Zoom.
The price will be donation based with a suggested donation of $7, and BIPOC will be able to attend at no cost. 50% of the proceeds will go to Common Ground Foundation, an organization with a mission to To empower high school students from under-served communities to become future leaders. Our programs focus on character development, social impact, healthy living, technology, financial literacy, creative arts, and global leadership.
What exactly is the Womnx’s Circle
A monthly meeting for womxn of all ages to connect to the divine feminine energy within us all, and practice self-care through meditation, art work, sharing, journaling, and other creative endeavors and self-expressive activities.
Each circle will be different, but it will always be a supportive space, with a meditation and intention setting, and journaling practice.
Who is this for?
This is for anyone identifying as a woman/womxn who wants to be part of a like-minded community. All are welcome to join this circle as long as they have the intention of connection, growth, and acceptance. There is no room for judgment in this sacred circle.
Why do you say “womxn” and not “women/woman”?
I strive to make my events a safe and inclusive space for all! The term Womxn is an alternative term for the English language word women which has been occasionally in use since 2015 to explicitly include non-cisgender women. If you identify as a woman/womxn, you are welcome here.
Why host these circles?
It’s simple, womxn have been gathering in circles for ages. It’s a sacred time to come together to make connections and build community. These monthly meetings will help us thrive, not just survive our busy lives. By carving out time to prioritize self-care, and supporting others in this shared experience of being human, we learn and grow together.
