This I know to be true: you can experience freedom any time you want. Regardless of whether you do coaching with me, or come to an event, I want to help you feel self-love, a deeper connection to nature, and total freedom in your body.
I’ve always been drawn to the great outdoors. As a kid, I spent many days hiking the mountains of Vermont with my family. I can still vividly remember the feeling of reaching the summit of the mountain, with my heart pounding, sweat pouring down my face, and the feeling of sticks and dirt stuck in my hiking socks. There was no better feeling than standing at the peak of the mountain enjoying the view. That was what happiness and health felt like to me.
Somewhere along the way, I got disconnected from this feeling of my true nature, and found myself listening to society, searching for “health” in the form of restrictive dieting and obsessive weighing. I believed that to be worthy, I needed to be a certain weight, and the smaller I became, the better. Deep down, I knew there had to be a better way...
I felt the weight of the chains of this restrictive mindset. Intuitively, I knew the way to live a healthy lifestyle was to support my mental health as well as my physical health. As I began to see the bigger picture, I started to pull myself out of this self-imprisonment. I realized that my path to health was ongoing and part of a lifelong journey. Before, my life was all about the specific weight loss goals, and then maintaining the weight loss, no matter what it took. Now, I see health as an exciting adventure through uncharted territory. There’s less rigidity on this path, and more time for pit stops, detours, and exploration.
It wasn’t as simple as flipping a switch. This new path was forged by rewiring my brain with mindfulness and positive self-talk. By spending more time outside, I connected to my innate and wild source of freedom. I left the old ways of thinking on the side of the road, untangled myself from the grips of technology, and entered the enchanted forest of self love and body freedom. I haven’t looked back.
This freedom feels like self-love, self-acceptance, and self-expression are having a picnic in a beautiful meadow full of wildflowers, full of laughter, joy, and definitely lemonade and snacks. The amazing thing about this freedom mindset is that you can experience it whenever you want. There are little choices you can make everyday that connect you to your true nature and that childlike sense of freedom. We'll take the time to zoom out, see the entire journey, and enjoy it!
As a health & happiness coach, think of me as your companion and co-navigator on this lifelong adventure. My joy comes from leading others down this trail, in order to find the hidden beauty around every bend. Instead of feeling overwhelm, I teach others how to have an explorers approach to wellness and to explore their wellness ideals with curiosity instead of rules. This is a new way of thinking entirely and I would be honored to share it with you!
